We met on a dating app called Hinge. Both of us had tried a variety of means for meeting new people without success. But one day we met, had our first date and knew something was different.
It was a toasty August day and Theodore (Dub) was feeling like this was going to be like any other first date. Just a chance to meet someone new who wouldn't be looking for the same things. A challenge we mutually shared. But that night at The Flying Saucer we shared great conversation over beer and loaded Texas fries. Time flew! Our dinner date ended up being about 7 hours long and felt like a Romantic Comedy. Dub walked me to my car, and even rescued me from sprinklers that were turning on along the way. Needless to say, we both had a great time and didn't want the night to end.
We both have a love for live music and happened to discuss what artists were coming to town. Turned out Earth, Wind & Fire and Lionel Ritchie was the next weeks' act. So Dub decided to buy tickets for us to go. Neither of us were prepared for the romantic evening we had planned. It's needless to say, if you're looking to romance this is a good crew to have in your corner. We had a great time and couldn't wait to learn more about each other.
The more time we have spent together, the more confirmation we have received that this marriage is what we were meant for. Our goals, families, aspirations and even trivial details have fallen inline in a supernatural way. How many couples can say they had the exact same make and model for their first car (A white Isuzu Trooper)? Knowing the casual details were falling into place quickly, we decided to take pre-marital counseling to see if what we learned on our own was something that God would confirm. And sure enough, that path has led us to why you're on this site today. God has prepared each of us individually to be ready and excited for this new journey together.
Theodore and I flew to Ogden, Utah to visit his parents for Thanksgiving. And with the help of his parents planned a day out in Park City, Utah where we could walk the snowy downtown and enjoy a dinner together. And after a brief walk behind the hotel and Ruth's Chris, Theodore courageously got down on one knee to propose. It was a magical night at dinner afterwards. A wonderful meal shared with Dub's parents discussing the things that matter most, all while a guitarist played music behind us.
Theodore is a Senior Accountant for Northrop Grumman Corporation, a dog dad to Rowdy, a black lab, and a huge fan of anime. Andrea is a Producer & Project Manager for Duarte Incorporated, a cat mom to Sam - a grey tabby with a hobbit-like appetite, and a big fan of cooking. Together they plan to live in McKinney, TX serving God and their community.
