Dekotah and I are always on the go, between spending time with his two amazing kids Lily and Aiden, studying for my dental boards, and preparing for Dekotah's deployment. But we always make sure to spend time with each other and make time for family. On 02/25/19 I had no clue what was going to happen. For me it was just a busy Monday of clinic seeing and treating patients, making time to study when I got home and preparing for the rest of my week. What I love about Dekotah is he always listens to my crazy obsession with teeth. So when I got home I was exhausted, but I was here with my family (my mom, stepdad and sister) and Dekotah came to spend time with my family as well. Dekotah always writes down things during the day on small notebook, whether its places to go visit, food to try or a song for me to listen and then shows it to me to look up and see what I think. So Dekotah comes back and sits on the couch with his notebook paper with a URL address and says look at this website they have some really cool photos on there. I pull out my phone and begin typing in the address, after it loads it pulls up a custom website that states "Catie Driver, Make Me the Happiest Man in the World. Will you Marry Me?" I didn't even have a chance to scroll down on the rest of the website I just looked up and Dekotah was down on one knee asking me to marry him, I didn't even need to think I immediately said "YES". Anyone that knows me knows I'm not an overly emotional person however, almost instantly I started crying not being sad but overwhelmed with happiness in that moment. I had never been happier to know that I was going to spend my life with this amazing man sitting right in front of me.
