Yes—San Miguel de Allende is widely considered one of the safest and most welcoming destinations in Mexico. The city is a popular international travel destination known for its strong expat community, vibrant culture, and well-established tourism infrastructure. While you may have seen recent news about cartel activity in other parts of Mexico, San Miguel de Allende has not been affected by those events. We have been in constant communication with our local planners and partners on the ground, and there are no safety concerns for our wedding weekend.
Getting around is very easy once you're there. San Miguel is a very walkable town, especially in the historic center — most people get around on foot. The cobblestone streets and hills add charm, but comfortable shoes are a must! Taxis are readily available so you won’t need a rental car. We strongly recommend pre-booking a car service to and from the airport, as it's about a 1 hour 30 min drive from BJX. We suggest using Germán Cardona – he’s reliable and knows the area well. You can reach him at tutransportesma@gmail.com (WhatsApp +52 415 181 8276) to schedule in advance. Transportation will be provided on the day of the wedding, so no need to worry about that part — just focus on enjoying the celebration!
San Miguel de Allende sits at over 6,000 feet elevation, so April brings warm, sunny days (typically in the 80°F+) and cooler evenings that can dip into the 50s. We recommend staying hydrated (the altitude can sneak up on you!) and bringing a jacket or wrap for the evenings—especially for rooftop cocktails or outdoor events.
Yes! Shuttles will be provided from the Rosewood. Shuttles leave promptly at 4:00 pm. At the end of the evening, there will be shuttles returning to the Rosewood as well as a taxi line available at the venue so guests can return to their individual accommodations at their own pace.
While we love your little ones, our wedding will be an adults-only celebration. We hope this gives all our guests—especially parents—a chance to relax, let loose, and enjoy a night off. Thank you for understanding!
