Hey everyone-I've hacked into the wedding website! This is a note from one of Megan and Zach's friends, Patrick. I was speaking with one of her close friends, Jaime- and we were thinking of a unique idea for the Friday night gathering for those who are planning on attending. A lot of us are coming from different parts of the country and areas, what would be a fun idea is if we brought something from the city or area that represents us or our home cities. As this event is happening at their new home, this is also something that would be nice as a "housewarming" gift or something of that nature. What would that entail? I live in Chicago, so I can think of some different foods (stuffed pizza, chicago style popcorn, or stuff like Malort...don't worry I won't do that to you Megan) As pizza is generally pretty difficult to travel with- it's up to you to be creative in what you're choosing to do. (For those in Chicago, I'm definitely bringing popcorn+) I'm not very creative- so I also can lean on the fact that I know they are starting from basically zero with their new home and I could also consider bringing a bottle of wine that I particularly enjoy (to have them try and think of me when they open it) or even a bottle of Jameson or another liquor that I know will be put to good use (so they won't remember when they drink too much of it...or they will curse us out for buying it in the first place- haha). What a nice way to welcome them to the new home with a few options for beverages! PLEASE NOTE- This isn't something that I think you should feel obligated to participate in, but I thought it would be something fun, kind and generous that we can do to show appreciation and love to Megan and Zach for being invited to participate and attend such a wondrous event.
