Both the ceremony and reception will take place indoors. Guests will be outdoors during the walk from their cars to the ceremony which may take several minutes.
After the ceremony guests can get into their cars and head straight to the reception hall where we will be serving finger foods and beverages while everyone arrives and settles into their seats to await the bride and groom. It is Serbian tradition to drive in a line following one another with Flags and decorated vehicles.
Guests will start arriving at the church between 2 - 2:30pm and the ceremony will officially begin at 3pm. Guests will start arriving at the reception around 4:30pm and it will officially begin by 5pm.
The average temperature in Spokane ranges from 40 degrees Fahrenheit to 52 degrees Fahrenheit in November so if you’re from out of town be sure to bring a jacket. Spokane weather can often times be unpredictable and there is always a chance of snow or rain in November so you may want an umbrella as well.
Food will be served buffet style with a mixture of traditional Serbian food and catered barbecue food. We will be serving roasted Pig and Lamb which is traditionally served cold in Serbian culture. We will also be serving venison stew, a boat load of bread, a large snack grazing table and more! For dessert we are serving Serbian baked goods rather than cake! Yum!
Each guest will be responsible for their own transportation to both the ceremony and reception. If you do not have a designated driver the couple suggests taking an Uber or carpooling.
There is one parking lot that the church shares with a school immediately north of the church where guests can park. Additionally, there is a small lot just south of the church, and street parking on Nora Avenue and Augusta Avenue. Parking at the church will be limited so please carpool as much as possible. The reception venue has ample land surrounding the building, made up of gravel which will allow plenty of room for parking.
The couple wants you to do whatever works best for you! Please feel free to choose which events you would like/are able to attend and RSVP accordingly. They are happy to celebrate with you either way! Plus, the ceremony is going to be about an hour which is long for both adults and kids. If you rather skip the ceremony and show up to the reception ready to celebrate, that’s perfectly fine!
The reception hall is about 15-20 minutes south of the ceremony location.
We believe kids add to the fun so they are more than welcomed to come! However, if you want to relax and let your hair down, we suggest finding a sitter for your young ones. We have quite a large guest list and space will be tight, so prepare to get cozy with one another.
