It all started in 2004 at Palm Middle School, where two seventh graders—Roy and Deja—became best friends. It all began when Deja passed Roy a letter, suggesting they should be friends. From that moment on, they spent hours on the phone, talking about everything and anything, completely unaware that their story was just beginning. Despite attending different high schools, their friendship never wavered and they remained best friends . Then, in September 2014, after years of friendship, they finally made it official. Their days were filled with study sessions at the Pasadena Library, drives down PCH with Nipsey Hussle playing, beach hangouts, and—of course—spontaneous trips to Las Vegas. When Roy moved to Northridge for college, Deja proved that distance was no match for love—making the 1.5-hour drive every weekend just to be together. Through every mile, every test, and every late-night conversation, their bond only grew stronger. After nearly a decade of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories, Roy popped the question in September 2023—and of course, Deja said yes! From best friends to soulmates, their journey has been nothing short of amazing. Now, they’re ready for the next chapter—marriage, family, a lifetime of love, and maybe a few more spontaneous Vegas trips along the way.
