Aaron and Deja’s story began in the summer of 2023, at a time when both of their lives were stepping into new seasons. Aaron had just begun living on his own, and Deja had recently made Smyrna her home earlier that year. What started as simply spending time together soon became something neither of them expected, but both quickly recognized as special. Their days began filling with shared moments that slowly built the foundation of their life together; movie nights, visits to the High Museum of Art, trying new restaurants, traveling, searching for a church home, and adopting two cats… and somehow finding one more along the way. In the midst of all those moments, something deeper was growing: a partnership rooted in love, faith, laughter, and unwavering support. Aaron fell in love with Deja’s kindness, her compassion, and the joyful, playful spirit she brings into every room. Some of his favorite moments are the simplest ones; like making her laugh until her stomach hurts, being there for her in difficult moments, and loving her for exactly who she is. It didn’t take long for him to know she was the woman he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. On July 29, 2024, in Mexico, Aaron asked Deja to marry him. For Deja, saying yes was the easiest decision she has ever made. From the beginning, Aaron has been her steady place. He has molded into someone who approaches life with patience, meets challenges with calm, and somehow turns even the hardest moments into ones filled with laughter. His kind heart, his unwavering love, his ability to listen, lead, and support her, and yes… those blue eyes she can never quite ignore, made falling in love with him feel like the most natural thing in the world. Together, they are building a life centered on faith, love, and family, with Christ guiding their journey forward.
