Culpeper and surrounding areas are rich with history. Some places to check out are the Museum of Culpeper History. The Graffiti House at Brandy station teaches you about the lives of the soldiers and citizens who lived there during the Civil War. There are plenty of battlefields to visit.  A short drive to Shenandoah mountains will take you to beautiful scenic overlooks. Skyline (58 minutes) and Luray caverns (56 minutes) are not too far away. D.C. is just over an hour and a half away.
