Deisi and Nick found each other in the busy hallways of Lane Tech back in 2010. They quickly bonded over a shared love for music, comedy movies, and the occasional multiplayer video game. What began as a school friendship soon blossomed into something much more. While Deisi pursued a degree in Neuroscience at DePaul University, Nick was two states away, studying Chemical Engineering at the University of Dayton. Though separated by distance and focused on coursework, their connection was resilient. In 2017, Nick moved back to Chicago to start an engineering role after earning his college degree. Later that year, they started building a future together when they brought home their furry companion Rocky, who instantly became the center of their world. As Nick launched his career, Deisi continued her academic journey by earning a Master in Public Health from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Driven by her passion, she continued on to earn a third degree, a Master of Science in Nursing from DePaul University. In 2022, they celebrated a huge milestone by moving into an apartment together in Brighton Park. A few years later, in early 2025, the trio of Deisi, Nick, and Rocky became official homeowners, planting their roots in the Portage Park neighborhood. In 2025, on a midsummer day against the stunning waves of Second Beach in La Push, Washington, Nick got down on one knee. He asked Deisi to be his wife, and she joyfully shouted yes, marking the perfect start to their next chapter.
