FAQs & COVID Safety

We realize this year has presented challenges with COVID-19, and we understand the very real concerns that the virus raises. We appreciate your flexibility as we navigate this situation and thank you for understanding the precautions we have chosen to implement for everyone's safety.
Question

What COVID-19 precautions will be in place?

Answer

We are thrilled that COVID-19 cases are declining in NYS and things are slowly returning to normal! However, we request that all of our guests be fully vaccinated (2 weeks post final shot) OR show proof of a negative COVID test taken within 72 hours of our wedding.  This will allow us all to have peace of mind as we gather together, as well as protect those members of our families who are unable to be vaccinated.

Question

What will I need to present to Whitby Castle?

Answer

It depends! For our vaccinated guests, we ask that you let us know this in advance so that your check-in at Whitby Castle will be as quick as possible. This will allow you to enter the reception once you give your name at the door.  Simply call, text or email us before 7/24 to let us know! If you are vaccinated but do not let us know in advance, you will need to present proof of your full vaccination series (digital copy/screenshot of your vaccination card/NYS Empire App are all acceptable forms of ID). We will not be collecting or holding onto this information once you enter the reception. If you're unvaccinated, we will ask you to show a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours (test date no earlier than 7/28) at the door.  Digital copies/results on your phone are both completely acceptable. We will be accepting either a rapid test or a PCR test. Please ensure that your testing site will be able to send you your results before 6pm on 7/31/21.

Question

Will we be required to wear masks?

Answer

Thankfully, because we are requiring all guests to be either vaccinated or test negative for COVID, we will not be required to wear masks! Of course, you are always welcome to wear a mask if you feel safest doing so.

Question
