We met during the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo. He started "shopping" for jeans at my booth, and he would ask for my help every time he would come by. One day he came in saying he had run out of clean shirts and needed me to pick one out for him. Of course I picked blue, my favorite color, which I now know is not his favorite shirt color😉. He still wore it and it still hangs in our closet to this day. Later in the show, mutual friends wanted to go out, so we all went and had a blast. The rest is history.

We were going to The Fort Worth Water Gardens to take family photos, but it had been lightly raining all day. I almost cancelled the plans, but he kept INSISITING we go. I finally agreed. We got everyone ready, and headed to The Water Gardens. We took some photos of the kids down in The Quiet Pool, and had decided to head back up to street level. Elye was up the stairs already with me quickly behind him. Half way up the stairs, I realized Dustin was calling for me over and over. I turned around with a quick "WHAT," because Elye was out of sight and I didn't want to lose him. I saw he was down on one knee, and quickly hurried back over to him. Once I realized what was going on, and that he had my grandmother's ring, I burst into tears. I said yes, of course! And, Elye came back down the stairs just in time. Shortly after, a double rainbow appeared in the middle of a beautiful sunset, which provided the most amazing backdrop for our engagement/family photos.
