FAQs

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We are so excited to celebrate our love with you and want to keep this day filled with faces we know and love. If your invitation does not list a plus one, we kindly ask that you do not bring one.

Question

Checking in on Thursday?

Answer

Stop by the Degelmann’s house for light bites and drinks fireside! Text Caitlin at (201) 245-2655 for details.

Question

We don’t live within driving distance. How should we travel?

Answer

We are so thankful that you are traveling to celebrate our love! If you are traveling by plane, we encourage you to fly to Albany International Airport. The Sagamore Resort/Lake George area is a one(1) hour drive from there. If you are looking for a more scenic route, you can also fly into Newark International Airport. The Sagamore Resort/Lake George area is a ~three(3) hour drive from there.

Question

Do we need to rent a car?

Answer

While it is not necessary, we HIGHLY recommend that you rent a car. It will be easy to get an Uber/Lyft from the airport, but very difficult in the Bolton Landing/Lake George area. Taxis are available from Bolton Landing/Lake George, but you will need to call ahead. Having your own car will also allow you to really explore the area and take in all that it has to offer! We recommend renting a car with friends/family to be both more eco-friendly and economical.

Question

Are children welcome?

Answer

We love your kids and want them to have a fun weekend as well! Lake George is a family friendly destination and we know that leaving your kids behind can be tough. We want them to feel special too with kid specific events on Friday and Saturday during the events that are adults only. Well behaved children are welcome at the ceremony and afterwards will need to go to the recreation center on site. A family babysitter is being provided as well as pizza during both kid’s events.

Question

Is there a dress code or colors that should be avoided?

Answer

Yes! Saturday is a black tie affair. We recommend long/floor length dresses or gowns for women and a jacket and tie, tux recommended, for men. The ceremony and cocktail hour will be outdoors on grass, so a chunky heel is recommended. We encourage you to dress your best and have fun with it! We kindly ask that ladies refrain from wearing white, ivory, champagne or cream colors.

Question

What should we do if we arrive late to the ceremony?

Answer

We understand, things happen! However, if you arrive after the ceremony has started, please do not walk down the aisle. While we want all of our friends and family there, we kindly ask that you either stand to the side or join us at cocktail hour. We thank you for understanding.

Question

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

While we appreciate you wanting to capture the moment, we have chosen to have an unplugged ceremony. We ask that you keep your phones away and be fully present during the ceremony, but don’t fret! We will have photographers there to capture everything and will share these once we receive them.

Question

Will there be parking?

Answer

Yes, there will be free parking available on site for our wedding guests. There will also be golf carts available to assist those with mobility issues to the ceremony.
