The story begins in their hometown of Troy, Illinois. After being introduced by a mutual friend, Holly and Mike went from fast friends to high school sweethearts. From their first movie date, A Fault In Our Stars (2014) at the Edwardsville Showplace to movie nights at home, it was easy to see that their love was written in the stars. Over the course of their 8 year relationship they've bonded over board games, a love of fantasy football, and several sushi dates. The two compliment each other well. While Mike's easy-going nature and kind heart helps Holly learn to take life day by day ; Holly's strong-willed and driven personality compliments Mike by giving him motivation to accomplish his goals. They help each other find purpose and see life through the eyes of the other, making a perfectly balanced pair. The proof is in the pudding, or rather the dough! The two worked at Joe's Pizza together for 3 years, and supported each all the way through until now as they embark in their professional careers and adult life. As they learn and grow together, their new life together is well on the way. This perfect pair partnered in adopting a boisterous kitten named Boo and care for her deeply, it's easy to see that their household is one built on love and laughter. On what appeared to be an average Saturday morning, I was woken up by the fire alarm as Mike had burnt the bacon in a failed attempt to surprise me with breakfast. We had casually thrown on Spongebob as we were eating our freshly made bacon, eggs, and toast. Little did I know, it was a proposal waiting to happen. Mike's original plan was to tie the ring around Boo's neck; however, our cat was NOT having it. As Mike panicked and looked for a backup plan, there happened to be a line in Spongebob where he has asked a Magic 8 ball if he would ever get married. At that moment, Mike had found the perfect time to pop the big question. Later that afternoon, he surprised me with an engagement party held at Sugar Creek Winery. Sharing our special day with family and friends was the perfect way to end to our perfect day!
