In Snoqualmie, take a path paved for all ages down to the gorgeous 268-foot Snoqualmie Falls. On Bainbridge Island, have a liesurely stroll around town, hike through the manicured gardens of Bloedel Reserve, and enjoy breathtaking vistas of the Seattle skyline on the quick ferry there and back.
Drive to Anacortes to spend a day out whale-watching among the San Juan Islands with Island Adventures. Rediscover nature at Mount Rainier National Park, a stratovolcano whose prominence dominates the entire region, or Olympic National Park, where you can hike glacial peaks, traipse through temperate rainforests, or walk sandy beaches within a few short miles of each other. Take a drive to Leavenworth, a Bavarian-styled village tucked in the beauty of the Cascade Mountains, where you can eat all the bratwurst, pretzel, and schnitzel you can handle.
