We met over a game of slap-jack in the Karaoke Bar of a Mexican Riviera Cruise. LeeAnna's Version: I was sitting all by myself at karaoke on my first cruise. This tall, dark and handsome woman came up and said hello. I invited her to a game of cards, and we haven't stopped flirting with each other since that first meeting. Dee's Version: I was on a cruise with my family and I kept seeing LeeAnna throughout the cruise. I thought that she was beautiful. One day, I was at karaoke and I saw her sitting by herself playing cards. I walked over to her and said hello. She asked me if I wanted to play Slap-Jack. I told her I didn't know how to play, so she taught me. After beating her numerous times, I asked her if she knew how to play. She laughed and we have been laughing together ever since.

In November of 2023, LeeAnna had "planned a trip for her birthday" to Temecula, CA, to go wine tasting. Little did she know, Dee had other plans for the trip. In the months prior, Dee had been conspiring with LeeAnna's best friend Jessica. They were planning the most epic surprise proposal. Dee sent Jessica and her daughter to Temecula to find the perfect proposal location. All that was left to do was to keep it from LeeAnna. On 11-11-2023, LeeAnna was told that she could take her time getting ready, and boy did she ever! She took all morning to get dolled up. At about 1pm, the adventure began! Wine tasting was the first stop. During the tasting, Jessica met a nice lady who suggested that everyone go together to another winery where the view was beautiful. Unbeknownst to LeeAnna, the nice lady was a photographer who's job it was to get them to the proposal location. So everyone piled into this "stranger's" car and drove to the winery next door. A short drive and a golf cart ride later they arrive at the location. Dee leads LeeAnna down the center aisle and shows her the view. "Look at the parking lot," she says, as she is trying to keep LeeAnna's attention away from what our friends were doing. LeeAnna finally turns around to her friends holding a "Will You Marry Me?" sign. She is stunned. Dee did it! She surprised her wife-to-be with the proposal of her dreams. Obviously LeeAnna said yes, and the rest is history.
