How We Met

Don't date your coworkers?

We met when we both worked at Chick-fil-A in the Bristol Mall. Dylan says that I would stare at him while he worked but we all know it's the other way around! Once when I complained about walking out alone, Dylan stepped up to save the day... and so it began. Although it's closed now and neither of us would go back if we could, it still holds a special place in our hearts because of the wonderful memories we made.

The Proposal

New Year, New Fiancé

On New Years Eve 2016, Dylan and I had plans to drive through Speedway in Lights at BMS. This is something we do every winter since it was where we had our first date. To my surprise, Dylan wanted to stop in the Christmas Village but it was fine by me. When we were headed back to the car he walked right past it! Of course I'm like, "What are you doing?!" He happily responds, "Lets go see if we can get up to Victory Lane" and keeps walking. I follow but I'm thinking someone would stop us before we got there. No one did! As I walked on the checkered platform I playfully spun around with my arms in the air saying, "I'm a winner!" I didn't even know I was about to be! I stopped spinning and tried to give Dylan a kiss but he sort of backed away a little so I turned around. When I did, I saw the sign. It was a sign made of lights that said "Will you marry me Deeanna?" Once I could understand that it was for me I slowly turned back around. Dylan was already on one knee beaming up at me. His words were so sweet and romantic so of course I said yes! (Not like I would've dreamt of saying no). He got up and we hugged and kissed for a minute then he started looking to the side. Our families emerged from behind cover, they got to see and record the whole thing! Dylan walked to them but this time it was him saying, "I'm a winner!" with his hands in the air!
