In the winter of 2016, some mutual friends were visiting Mitch in Lake Tahoe during his first season as a Ski Patroller at Northstar. Deeanna came to Tahoe (accompanied by her bestie) to visit, and they all spent the weekend trying to snowboard, singing Karaoke, and hanging out at the cabin. On the last night of their stay, Mitch and Deeanna talked the whole night, and as he left he told her they would be seeing each other very soon. The next weekend he drove down to Morgan Hill to spend Christmas with Deeanna and her family, and the rest is history!
