House Or Rental
If you want to stay in a rental property, there are plenty of options to choose from. Our wedding will be next to Alpine Ski Resort and our welcome gathering on Saturday will be at Sugar Pine Beach (just south of Tahoma). Earlier this year, we bought our first home in Carnelian Bay. If you want to be neighbors while you're in town, please consider renting close to us! If you prefer a little space, you could rent a home anywhere between King's Beach and Tahoma. You can also stay in the town of Truckee or the Squaw Valley and Alpine neighborhoods. It's all within a 10-20 minute drive.
Hotel
There are a few great hotels to choose from in the Squaw Valley area. The wedding venue is located just down the road, next to the Alpine Ski Resort. Jamie and I love staying here, because of the incredible view of the mountain. There are a bunch of great restaurants here, too. In addition to eating and drinking, you can take the tram up to the top of the mountain and go for a hike, swim in the mountain-top pool or take in the beautiful view of the mountain and lake.
Hotel
Same location as the Village at Squaw Valley, usually more affordable prices.
Hotel
This is our favorite to stay in when we come up for the weekend. It's located right in the heart of Tahoe City and walking distance to everything you need. You can use the firepit to make S'mores, enjoy a continental breakfast (hoping this will resume this summer!) and a great craft beer and wine list. Definitely a fun place to stay.
Hotel
This lodge is conveniently located on Hwy 89 and is very close the the wedding venue. It can be a busy spot for tourists during the day since it is the drop pick-up point for rafters on the Truckee River. In the evening, it is a beautiful (and much quieter!) place to sit by the river and enjoy time together.
Hotel
The Village at Northstar is a beautiful place to stay. It's a little further out, but definitely a nice option to rent a hotel room or condo.
Flight
Reno is the most convenient airport, located about an hour away from Tahoe City. You can fly into Reno and either take a shuttle (North Lake Tahoe Express) or rent a car.
Flight
Sacramento is located 120 miles away from Tahoe City and is a two-hour drive. There are no direct buses or shuttles to Tahoe City so it would be best to rent a car.
Flight
Oakland and San Francisco airports are also nice options for a less expensive flight, however you will need to rent a car or take Amtrak.
