A Facebook group, a random post, and the worst movie ever brought us together. What started as a simple “What’s everyone doing this weekend?” turned into a thread full of laughs and jokes about a movie that became an unexpected connection. From the beginning it felt like we’d known each other forever. After a couple months of talking, we met up had dinner and went to a bar, which soon became our favorite spot, and everything just clicked naturally from there. One of our first dates was at Hopeland gardens , and over time, it became a special place for us. In December 2023, during the holidays, Dee proposed there. We started the evening with dinner at Chop House and then met up with our best friend and her daughter and friend to see the holiday lights. In the labyrinth maze area of the park—this little tucked-away spot surrounded by all the Christmas magic—Dee got down on one knee. With carolers nearby and hot chocolate in hand, that’s where we started the beginning of the next chapter of our lives together.
