We met at our mutual friends' engagement party. I noticed Dee's dog and struck up a conversation about how Butters reminded me of my Mia. Afterwards, I went inside to ask Fran about the cute girl with the dog. Unfortunately, the timing wasn't quite right. Dee was there with another guy, so my hopes were squashed. Fast-forward a few months and I was aimlessly swiping on Tinder of all places where I matched with the very same girl! We exchanged a few messages before setting up a date to meet in real life. I'm quite the gentleman so I made her meet me at my house for our very first date. We went wine tasting and I cut my finger as I shattered a glass greedily reaching for the last piece of chocolate. There were a few more dates before Dee had to go back to school in Roanoke. We spent months apart but communicated daily. We finally reconnected when Dee came home for good and the rest is history!
Dee came home to an empty house on a random Thursday in March. There were flowers on the counter with a note telling her to meet me at the park where I was waiting with the dogs. She called me in a panic not knowing what to wear! I waited on the tallest ridge in the park overlooking the lake with a secret photographer standing nearby. Dee had to walk a long way on a narrow path to finally reach me. I was both relieved and nervous as I watched her approach. I didn't waste any time dropping to one knee and asking her to be my wife. She said yes!
