August 4th, 2015: one of us rolled into med school orientation hungover, the other, way too excited to meet their new classmates. Mark would be the odds-on favorite to be walking in wearing sunglasses on a cloudy day and asking where the coffee was before introducing himself, but you'd lose that one.   We sat together at a table of NJMS mentors (Mark) and mentees (Megan). He was droning on failing to woo his new interest, and she, completely unaware, kindly excused herself to the bathroom to rethink her life choices.   We’d say that first interaction was pretty one-sided...   As time went on, we grew past the side-long glances that stayed a little too long, and became great friends within our group at school. It took Mark until February to finally ask her out, and our first date was at a romantic Chinese takeout spot in West Orange more frequented by the exterminator than human customers.   The laughs and love built exponentially, as we survived each other’s biggest tests together: another crippling Giants loss for Mark (which occurred weekly), and only scoring a 98% on Megan’s tests (which occurred monthly). The fun shared with friends and family on ski trips and voyages to the Mexican outback were only toppled by the comfort shared playing bar trivia and watching movies on rainy days together.   We lived together in sin, started a hairy family with Porter, and then Megan decided a 3 hour drive was close enough, thank you very much.   Before she departed for Charm City (Baltimore's hilarious nickname), we shared an incredible vacation to Greece, where we got engaged amidst beautiful sunsets, delicious food, and way too many tourists.   To the legends and personalities that made us who we are and helped form the amazing relationship we now enjoy, please, come celebrate with us!!!
