Hello!

#PandemicWedding

We enjoyed celebrating with you! Check out the photos page for photos of the event!

How We Met

2014

Jake and I met in November of 2014. We had both graduated from high school earlier that year. Jake was living with a few friends in an apartment and working a full time job. I was a freshmen in college and living in a 4 person suite. My original roommate decided to withdraw from Missouri State in October. About 2 weeks later I got a new roommate who had been waiting for a room to open up on campus. She is who introduced me to Jake! The three of us grew quite close and had an awesome friendship. When they parted ways I continued a friendship with both. Years later that friendship I had with Jake turned into what it is that we have now.

Proposal

July 16th, 2019

Jake was home for the day with a very bad migraine, but I unfortunately had no excuse to stay in bed, so I was at work. When I took my lunch I decided to bring home a soda to help Jake with his migraine. He was happy I had thought of this because so far nothing had helped cure the pain. The caffeine helped rather quickly luckily. Jake was able to become a person again as the pain from the migraine started to ease. Fast forward about 10 minutes, now, I dont remember what I was talking about, but I remember Jake pausing me and saying he would be right back. He came back and got down on the ground in front of the bed. "December, no one has ever loved me like you do and no one has ever cared for me as much and as consistently as you. I want to spend forever knowing I will always be loved like that and forever loving you like that. Will you marry me?" We are both lucky enough to be marrying our best friend.

2020, THE FIRST TRY FOR A WEDDING

#PandemicWedding

As you all know we happened to be one of the thousands of couples who's wedding was affected by COVID-19. To say the least it was devastating. We had our wedding shower on March 7th, less than 1 month until the big day. Literally one week later, we were discussing our options to cancel/postpone as well as what to do because Jake had been laid off of his job. We had received our Marriage license on March 6th, so we knew we still had to get married regardless. After several ideas were tossed around, we finally landed at a small drive-in wedding that included immediate family and the wedding party. We had a 15 minute ceremony, joined by one of our very great friends, with no reception afterwards. It was quick, intimate, and though it was not how I pictured it, it was perfect.
