I was minding my own business at the bar in Tampico Airport Mexico after 7 weeks and 2 hurricanes. I was chilling & having a nice cold beer. I glanced up across to a table & there she was 'Blonde & Beautiful' looking amazing. She noticed that I caught her eye & flicked her hair back, then smiled at me. I grinned and took another sip of beer. I made my way over to the restroom and I had to pass her by. In doing so, she spoke clearly and softly asking where the gate was? I said it was just in front of the bar & when I returned I was asked to join her. We had a drink, she explained that she was in Mexico visiting her Dad for his birthday & was all alone now. I said that I was working offshore and was delayed by hurricane Harvey! So through security & on to the only other BAR in the airport. We had a Vodka & 7... then it was time for us to go. We exchanged first names and by this time, my flight was leaving slightly later to Mexico City, so I escorted Deb to her departure gate. As we said goodbye, I said 'I’ll find you in Mexico City airport’, to which Deb replied 'yeah right'! I have a set of skills I will admit so, after leaving Tampico and arriving in Mexico, I set out to find my quarry. You should have seen the look on her face when she looked up from her nachos in one hand and her mobile phone in the other! Gobsmacked would be an understatement! I just grinned and said “Hi”. Debra invited me to sit and share her nachos. I declined on the nachos but we had a quick glass of wine and the usual small talk. Then it was time for this lady to leave again. Twice in one night!!! REALLY. But I had her surname so all was not lost. I will admit Debra made me work hard to win her trust, 5 months passed with a few phone calls and texts and then, out of the blue, I was invited to Raleigh. The rest, as Debra puts it, is history! I will let you all decide which chain of events you would consider gospel. All I know is I am truly in love and I thank Debra for that!
