Deborah and Julian met through their phone screens. At the time, both were using dating apps to try and find their “special someone.” They first encountered each other on Hinge. He thought she was gorgeous and stunning but didn't feel like he was “Christian” enough for her. She, on the other hand, thought he was just another typical Filipino guy who likes fast cars and works in healthcare. It didn't help that he only had one decent picture of himself. Thinking him arrogant, she swiped left and went onto the next guy. Not many months passed before they matched again—this time on Coffee Meets Bagel. Here, Julian actually had more pictures that showed off his sharp jawline and arm muscles, so naturally, Deborah decided to give him a chance this time around. The first date was wholesome: getting boba, talking at a park, having dinner, and taking a late night stroll along Santa Monica Pier with his two dogs, Luke and Braun.
