I, ChiChi--the husband-to-be who tells you this daring love story--am as smooth as crunchy peanut butter when it comes to the ladies. Deb saw how handsome I looked and liked my profile on Hinge in May 2024, but I made it a total of 24 hours before she unmatched me on the app. Ouch, right? The peanut butter was crunched. However, three months later there was a second chance & a cup of coffee... Our first date was at Collective Coffee in downtown McKinney, Texas. We still argue over what section of the shop we sat in, but I will never argue over how sweet the time was. We sat down for five hours and never checked our phones. We talked about our faith, our family history, what we wanted out of life, and just kept asking good questions of each other. If we're honest, we weren't sure about each other the first couple weeks (I had questionable fashion and she was fashionably late:), but we kept saying yes and we kept getting coffee. White Box Roastery, 9.16.2024 Lemma Coffee, 09.21.2024 Northplace Coffee, 11.08.24 George Coffee + Provisions, 02.14.2025 Native Coffee, 03.10.2025 Wayward Coffee Co., 08.09.2025 Hail Fellow Well Met, 11.07.2025 44 days later I would get on a knee and ask Dee-- my adventure buddy, the girl who can light up a whole room and bring out life in others, the silly goose, a Worshipper in Spirit and in Truth, my best friend--if she would marry me. And she said yes. I am so grateful and so excited for what's ahead because the Lord who goes behind us also goes before us. We are right in the middle of we are praying for and even though marriage is a great responsibility, God is going to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we could ask or think according to His Power that works in us. Our steps are ordered...and I know that somewhere in the middle of the laughter, tears, chaos, memories, and God-ordained moments... There will be coffee involved. We are so excited for May 29th and a marriage covered by Christ and community. Here we gooooo!!!!!!!!!!! Groom, Chibuike "ChiChi" Odo
