Bless the beautiful couple!

Every great love story has a beginning… Our daughter Radhika’s began on a badminton court, thanks to Dadaji’s (Radhika's Paternal Grandfather) masterstroke! Our would-be son-in-law, Debdoot, entered our lives not as a suitor… but as a badminton partner. Seeing that Radhika had completely defeated the competition among other girls (on court, of course!), Dadaji decided she deserved a “worthy opponent.” And so, with all the authority only a grandfather possesses, he compelled Debdoot, a talented badminton player himself, to play with his granddaughter. Now, refusing Dadaji was never really an option. So, reluctantly (or so he claims!), Debdoot stepped onto the court. What started as a forced doubles match soon turned into regular practice sessions. From smashes to smiles… from rallies to laughter… They grew up playing together, and somewhere between the shuttlecocks and scoreboards, something beautiful began. Both being fun-loving and full of life, their friendship quietly turned into something deeper. Then came the big twist in the match: Radhika received admission to pursue her Master’s in the UK. Distance entered the game. But as they say, long distance doesn’t weaken true bonds; it strengthens them. Miles apart, hearts grew closer. Debdoot, too, chose to step out of his comfortable, well-settled life and follow his dreams to the UK for his MBA. Not just for ambition, but with the excitement of being closer to the person who had already become an important part of his journey. At that point, even we parents realized this was no longer just badminton practice… this was a lifelong partnership in the making. Today, that beautiful journey which began with Dadaji’s strategic selection of a badminton partner is about to reach its grand finale (or rather, a wonderful new beginning!).
