I had 2 persuasive friends who decided my singlehood had gone on long enough. After a few margaritas one night, they took matters into their own hands and made me a dating profile. I never actually went on a single date from it...but I did find this very handsome guy named Mike. Naturally, I thought, "Surely we have mutual friends." So like any completely normal, not-at-all unhinged person, I conducted a full digital investigation. I scrolled his Facebook all the way back to 2012, confirmed he wasn't a serial killer, and also concluded -professionally- that he desperately needed help with both his social media presence and possibly some wardrobe tips. So of course, I sent him a friend request. We sat in Facebook "friend" purgatory for a couple of months before he finally messaged me. We started talking...and talking...and talking. About a month in, I finally said "So...are we ever actually going to go out or what?" Turns out Mike is what you'd call a slow roll. But then--out of nowhere--within two months he saying "I would marry you tomorrow." I call it Mike's hockey stick graph: very flat at first then a sudden dramatic rise. And now... we say "happily every after"
