FAQs

Things you may be asking yourself, for which, hopefully we have the right answers.
Question

Why October? Why so late in the year?

Answer

Good question. First, it's hotter than the front porch of Hades in Murfreesboro during the summer. And no one should have to suffer through an outdoor wedding in that kind of heat and humidity. Second, we both love Halloween. We would have had the wedding that night, but the venue wasn't available. Lastly, late October is gorgeous in Middle TN and the fall colors should be on full display.

Question

Will we need a rental car?

Answer

Yes. Nashville is very large and very spread out. Murfreesboro is a 45-minute drive from the airport. Plus, we've suggested some wonderful ideas for you to get out and explore the greater Nashville area on our "Things to Do" page, and you'll need a car to do that.

Question

Do we have to stay in Murfreesboro or can we stay in Nashville?

Answer

You are more than welcome to stay wherever you want obviously. We recommend Murfreesboro, only because downtown Nashville is approximately 45 miles from Murfreesboro and Interstate-24 is a nightmare any time day or night. Expect 45 minutes to an hour drive if you stay in downtown Nashville. We've provided you with some hotel suggestions in Murfreesboro. Mark says the Embassy Suites is the nicest of all the choices.

Question

What will the weather be like in Murfreesboro that time of year.

Answer

Statistically speaking (yes, I researched it Rebecca), the average high in Middle TN in late October is 71 degrees. Lows are typically in the mid-40's. October is also the driest month of the year in Middle Tennessee. Late October is also peak season for all the beautiful fall colors!

Question

Should we come early and/or stay late?

Answer

We are beyond excited to share our love for one another, and of Middle TN, with you. We have activities planned for days before the wedding on our "Schedule" page. You are welcome to pick and choose as you see fit. We've also provided you with some great sightseeing ideas on our "Things to Do" page and we encourage you to come to Middle TN and "stay-a-while" (as we say in the south). According to Mark, if you have an excuse to come to Nashville in the fall and you don't stay at least 3-4 days, he questions your life choices.

Question

What should we wear to the wedding?

Answer

Our plan is for a semi-casual, semi-formal event. What does that mean exactly? It means we will probably be slightly more dressed-up than you need to be. It also means dress to be comfortable. Please do not feel obligated to "dress-up", but you're more than welcome to if you wish. Ladies, feel free to wear a dress (or not). Men, feel free to wear jeans (or not). As we like to say, "you do you boo!" We do however suggest keeping an eye on the weather forecast as we will be outside for 3 hours and it may be cool out.
