FAQs

The Wedding Website of Debbie Miller and Cameron Hames
Question

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

Please, please don't. We are more than happy to share with you any photos our photographer takes or to strike a pose for you after the ceremony if you would like the keepsake. We hope you can unplug for a few minutes and be fully present to celebrate with us!

Question

Can I take photos after the ceremony?

Answer

Only if you share the embarrassing ones with Debbie and Cameron.

Question

Will there be a family photo?

Answer

We will be taking family photos immediately after our ceremony. Family members should stay seated after the ceremony for a picture.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Our ceremony will start promptly, but we recommend arriving 30 or so minutes early. The venue is a big, gorgeous garden that you can explore before our ceremony. Unfortunately, after our ceremony there won't be an opportunity to explore.

Question

Will there be transportation provided?

Answer

We will provide a shuttle to and from the Inn at Middleton Place. The shuttle will depart from the Inn promptly at 4:30pm and leave the venue back to the Inn at 10:45pm. There will not be transportation provided to and from the Hampton Inn or downtown; however Uber and Lyft are available on Saturday nights.

Question

Is this an outdoor shindig?

Answer

Yes! (Well, hopefully!) We recommend dressing for the weather and avoiding stilettos, particularly if it as been raining. Our ceremony and cocktail hour will be in gardens, requiring you to walk on grass. Our reception will be indoors, though.

Question

What do you mean "black tie optional"?

Answer

We want you to feel great in what you're wearing! Cameron will be in a tux, and Debbie will be in a long gown (duh), but we know not everyone has those sitting in the backs of their closets. We hope you're excited to get dressed up with us!

Question

Can I bring a gift?

Answer

First, thank you! We appreciate your generosity. We have to ask for no boxed gifts to be brought to our wedding. We might struggle convincing TSA to let us take a shiny new knife set on the plane ride home. If you would like to get us something off our registry, there will be instructions to ship it directly to our home in Virginia.

Question

What's on the menu?

Answer

For your meal, you can choose between roasted chicken with potatoes, beef short ribs with polenta, or butternut squash risotto. Please be sure to note on your RSVP who is getting which dish.

Question

What if I have food allergies?

Answer

Please let Debbie and Cameron know! We will do our best to make sure we have options you can eat and reach out before if we know we have cinnamon or walnuts hiding in something.
