Question

I know the invitation said "No Gifts Please" but what if I still really want to give a gift? Any suggestions?

Answer

Yes! A cash fund has been set up in the registry to help some very special friends. Heather and Robert Martinez set Alex and Debbie up on a blind double date and the rest is history! Shortly after that date, Heather was diagnosed with lung cancer and underwent major surgery to remove her right upper lobe. Unfortunately, she also has Schleroderma in her left lung, which is a hardening of her lung, making it difficult to breathe at times. She now has to undergo a biopsy of her liver after something suspicious showed up on her latest MRI. Overall, the past eight months have been filled with doctor's appts, scans, biopsies, questions, tears and fears, but it's also been filled with a lot of love, support, faith, friendship, laughter and prayers. There are many bills that are not covered by their insurance, and it would bless them so much if in lieu of gifts to Alex and Debbie, donations would be made to help cover their medical bills, which are numerous.
