How did we come to be?

Her side— Fate, trust, and a little Facebook dust ✨ It all started with a very innocent… totally not innocent at all “accident.” I was scrolling Facebook one night when JD popped up as a suggested friend, and of course I added him—because why not? Within seconds, I “accidentally” liked his profile picture. (And by accidentally, I mean very much on purpose… but he didn’t need to know that part.) In a slight panic—but also fully committed—I quickly messaged him to apologize for my “fat fingers.” Smooth, right? To make it even better, I added that he looked familiar… which was absolutely not true, but felt like the right thing to say in the moment. And somehow, it worked. From that very first message, the conversation just clicked. The banter was easy, fun, and the kind that makes you smile at your phone like a total goof. What started as a tiny, slightly sneaky “accident” turned into conversations we never wanted to end. Turns out, all it took was a little boldness, a tiny white lie, and one very strategic profile picture like to start something pretty special 💕 His side— Business as..unusual 🚒 I was just sitting at work, minding my business—truly behaving for once—when out of nowhere I get a friend request, a like on my profile picture, and a message that says, “Sorry for liking your picture, you just look so familiar.” Now, I’ve never exactly been known for catching hints, so I did what any oblivious person would do… I brushed it off like it was a coincidence. Totally normal, right? But then the conversation kept going. And going. And eventually she hits me with, “Do you have any distasteful tattoos… or a motorcycle?” At this point, I’m still connecting dots like it’s a group project I didn’t study for. Then she follows it up with, “I hope you’re single—I don’t want to be macking on anyone’s man.” And that’s when it finally clicked. Took me long enough, I know. Not long after, we went on our first date. To break the awkwardness, I pointed out that we accidentally matched—both in jeans and a black shirt. Smooth, I know. But somehow that one little joke turned into another, and then another… and before I knew it, we had this effortless back-and-forth that just stuck. Funny how something that started with me completely missing the hint turned into something that feels so natural now. Guess sometimes the best things don’t start perfectly—they just start… and then keep getting better.
