How We Met

08.01.2017

Since we weren't having any luck with traditional dating, we both decided to give online dating a shot; not expecting to find "the one" on the first try. Luckily for us, it didn't take long to find each other. The one catch was he was in Connecticut, and she was in New York. Even though we both knew it seemed impractical to hold a long-distance relationship, to both our surprise, we found a way to make it work. After a few dates in person to make sure we were both real, and David's video snaps of "I like me better when I'm with you", we had made up our minds. Now, 3 years later and we are tying the knot!!!

Our First Date

09.07.2017

WELCOME TO MOES!!! Because what better way to get to know someone than over burritos, tortillas, and 6 different kinds of salsa. A very casual first date was the perfect way to break the ice and get to know each other in person. She, kind and caring, and he, goofy and laid-back turned out to be the best of both worlds. Needless to say, there were many more dates after that.

I Proposed - His perspective

09.07.2020

She had been waiting forever for me to pop the question and was getting anxious. Luckily for her, on our third year anniversary, I HAD A PLAN (Let me be clear I HAD A PLAN). I'd bring her to Olde Mystic Village for the day and dinner at Captain Daniel Inne, where I'd brought her for her first birthday together. Then I'd bring her back home, pick up the ring and bring her to Johnny Appleseed Orchard. We would go to the top of the hill in the orchard amongst our friends and apple trees overlooking the Town of Ellington at sunset, and I'd pop the question. Things didn't quite go as planned, this one's quite a doozy. It was nice and sunny and we were having a great time in the village. Then my plan started falling apart at dinner. We made it to the restaurant and Andrea was thinking about how I had not asked the question all day. Unfortunately, after a GROSSLY MISUNDERSTOOD comment made by me, I got on her bad side for what looked like for the rest of the week. To be fair, you can't tell someone you're going to ask them to marry you before you actually ask, it ruins the surprise. Especially when your initial plan months ago was derailed by a car accident, but that's another story. Anyway, after a long and quiet car ride home, I had to start improvising fast. I made an excuse to leave the house to pick up the ring, gather our friends, and somehow get her to the orchard to meet me. Anyone that knows Andrea, knows that she can hold a grudge, and she did that by leaving the house. It was a wild goose chase to get a hold of her, chase her down, and get her to the orchard. I was running out of time and I didn't want to lose my chance. Our friends had found her, and with a little fibbing of their own, were able to convince her to come with them. I made it to the orchard and was waiting, hoping that she wasn't too angry at me to say no. Fortunately, she couldn't stay mad at me forever, and it was an undeniable yes.

He Proposed - Her Perspective

09.07.2020

I had been waiting forever for him to pop the question. After about a year, my subtle mentioning of marriage wasn't so subtle anymore. I honestly wasn't expecting him to propose on our third anniversary, but I was hoping he had something special planned. After establishing that we didn't really have much planned due to Covid, we decided to go to Olde Mystic Village for the day. It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed visiting all the shops. We decided to go for dinner at Captain Daniel Packer Inne, a special place David had brought me for my birthday the first year we were together. We were having a lovely dinner, till David made a comment (not intentionally) that instantly made me upset. Anyone who knows me knows how emotional I am, we'll just leave it at that. lol After a very long, and awkward drive home, David got a call from a friend who needed to be "picked up". Let me just say... It's our anniversary, I'm upset, and he left me. This girl was not about to be home when he got back, so I went for a drive. After a friend's first failed attempt to hang out, I got another call from a friend who said she was in a crisis. We were driving around till I noticed she was driving to Johnny Appleseeds in Ellington. At this point, all of the events of the day started clicking together. All the emotions of the day were overwhelming. As soon as I saw him standing up on that hill, all the events of the day were forgotten... And I SAID YES!
