It all started in the early summer of 2009. Franco's childhood friend Leah moved out of the South Bay and ended up meeting Dee when they worked together in a city far from Torrance. Dee and Leah became friends, which led to Leah introducing Dee to Franco. They became friends over the next year and.... In August of 2010 Dee bought a surfboard and decided to ask Franco if he could take her to his surf spots. A few days later Dee was waking up at 4:30am to drive from West Covina to El Porto in Manhattan Beach to go surfing with Franco before she had to go to the office. Over the next few weeks the two started making sunrise surf sessions a regular event. The surf sessions turned into an excuse to see each other and the friends became a couple.

It was the weekend of their 7 year anniversary, they went for a drive in their 1985 El Camino in the South Bay. Franco blindfolded Dee and took her to a park in the hills of San Pedro. Once they got to the top of the hill Franco popped the big question, of course Dee immediately burst into tears and said yes through the happy sobs. Needless to say they're so excited to start this journey together!
