FAQs

Questions? We've got answers (as long as they're the questions we anticipated)! If you have any other questions besides those listed below please reach out to Dennis Hoguet (314 - 565 - 7033). He LOVES questions.
Question

Do I get a plus one?

Answer

Due to limited space, we are only able to accommodate those guests formally invited on your wedding invitation. If you received a plus one they will appear under your name when you RSVP. Thank you for understanding!

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

While we love your little ones, our wedding will be an adults-and-teens celebration. We kindly ask that children under the age of 13 not attend. To help ease childcare burden, we plan to hire a babysitter for those traveling with children to use free of charge if there is enough interest. If this is a service you would like to utilize, please contact Alex and Tyler.

Question

What should I wear? Dress code?

Answer

We’d love to see everyone in cocktail or semi-formal attire for the celebration. For women, that typically means knee-length or midi-length dresses or dressy pantsuits. Please avoid casual sundresses or floor-length formal dresses. For men, we ask that you wear a dress shirt with a tie or a suit. And yes, that means no jeans :)

Question

Are there any colors I should avoid wearing?

Answer

This might seem obvious to mention but we kindly ask that guests do not wear colors intended for the bride - whites, ivories, and creams. Furthermore, guests wearing maize and/or blue will be asked to leave immediately ;)

Question

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?

Answer

We would love our ceremony to be phone-free as we have hired a great photography team to capture those moments. We welcome you to take all of the photos you want during the reception, but PLEASE ask one of us prior to posting anything to social media.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Yes! It wouldn't be a Midwestern wedding without one, would it? Due to venue restrictions, please refrain from brining any outside alcohol.

Question

Are you changing your last names after the wedding?

Answer

Nope! We’re both keeping our last names as they are. Alex does not want to spend the rest of her life on the phone spelling out her last name to customer service representatives, and Tyler is too lazy to go to the DMV. Although we love and appreciate personalized gifts, please refrain from any gifts utilizing either of our last names.

Question

How should I RSVP?

Answer

Please save some trees (and Alex and Tyler's inbox) and RSVP on this website! The RSVP deadline is April 8 2027.

Question

Are the ceremony and the reception both at the Masonic Temple?

Answer

Yes!

Question

Are there accommodations near the venue or hotel blocks?

Answer

While we have opted not to utilize hotel blocks, there are many options for a variety of budgets within Detroit and its close suburbs. Please see the Travel section of the website for our recommendations!
