Question

1. Where is the wedding taking place?

Answer

• Ceremony is taking place at Oakwood Community Church: 5791 Oakwood Rd, Ortonville, MI 48462 • Reception will be at Indian Springs Metro Park at the Environmental Discovery Center: 5200 Indian Trail, White Lake, MI 48386

2. What time is the ceremony? What time is the reception?

Answer

• Ceremony will begin at 3 PM • Reception Cocktail Hour will begin at 5 PM, Bride and Groom will arrive at 6 PM • The time between the Ceremony end and Bride/Groom's Arrival allows the Bridal party to take pictures and everyone to have time to get to the venue.

3. What is the dress code?

Answer

• The Dress Code for our wedding is SEMI-FORMAL or DRESSY CASUAL • We do ask for no Jeans

4. What weather should I expect?

Answer

• We cannot promise the weather however were hoping for a nice Fall Day. Both ceremony and venue will be indoors, but we suggest bringing a sweater or something to cover with if you get cold. Weather permitting, we will have the doors to the venue balcony open!

5. Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

• Both the Ceremony and Reception will be indoors

6. What should I expect after the ceremony?

Answer

• After the ceremony, the couple's immediate family will take photos, then drive to the reception area to take pictures with the bridal party. • Guests will have time to drive to the reception (about 30 minutes). We encourage guests to take a walk around the park or enjoy the different amenities they have. The nature center below the reception space has a lovely bubble that you can walk under the pond (closes at 5). • Reception space will open at 5 PM for Guests to arrive and enjoy cocktail hour. • Please see the TIMELINE section for details

7. Will transportation be provided? Is there easy parking at the venue(s)?

Answer

• We will not be providing any formal transportation. There are enough spaces in the parking lot for all. • YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PAY TO GET INTO THE PARK • To get into the park just state at the front that you are “Here for the wedding”

8. When can I RSVP?

Answer

• RSVPs will be open once invitations are sent out. • If you already know you can absolutely not make it to the wedding or the reception, please reach out to the bride or groom to let them know ahead of time.

9. How do I RSVP?

Answer

• We sure hope you’ll be able to join us for our special day. You can choose to RSVP one of two ways: 1. With your invitation, there is an RSVP card that you can fill out and return, or 2. Click the RSVP section of this website.

10. When is the RSVP deadline?

Answer

• Please RSVP by AUGUST 25th, 2023

11. Can I bring my kids? Will there be a babysitter?

Answer

• We have chosen to make this an 8 and older wedding. (Family) • Please refer to your invitation for who is invited including children. • You are responsible for the care of your children at the wedding.

12. Can I bring my partner?

Answer

• We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation. If you have any questions, please reach out.

13. I can’t attend the wedding in person. Will there be a virtual wedding celebration?

Answer

• We will unfortunately not have our wedding live-streamed at this time.

14. Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you recommend I stay?

Answer

• We have not reserved a specific hotel for our guests. • Please check the TRAVEL section of our website as we have listed some options.

15. Are the ceremony and reception location wheelchair accessible?

Answer

• Yes, both flat have walkways to get into the ceremony or venue.

16. What type of food and drink will be served during the cocktail hour and reception?

Answer

• We’ll be serving light snacks during cocktail hour, followed by a buffet dinner, and dessert. • Please provide us with dietary restrictions on your RSVP.

17. I have dietary restrictions, what’s the best way to communicate that with you?

Answer

• We definitely want to make sure you enjoy your time and meal on our wedding day, please let us know when you RSVP about your dietary needs.

18. Will there be an open bar?

Answer

• We will have an open bar however there will be a limited selection. Please be responsible. • Per Indian Springs Policy no alcohol shots are allowed and no outside drinks. Also, no smoking of any kind is allowed on the premises.

19. What Kind of music will there be?

Answer

• We plan to have a variety of music playing. If there is a specific song you would like to request, there will be a spot on your RSVP! • As a heads up to some, after 9 there will be some harder metal music played per the groom’s request. However, there will still be a mix of the bride’s songs and the groom’s songs.

20. Are you registered? Where should we ship your gift?

Answer

• We are registered at Target and Amazon; you can find the details on our REGISTERY page.

21. Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?

Answer

• We love photos! However, we do ask that you refrain from taking photos during the ceremony, we’d like that time to be unplugged. • For the rest of the wedding, we encourage guests to post pictures using our wedding hashtag #GroovingwiththeGraves so we can see them, too!
