I only have sketchy knowledge of what went on before I arrived in the late spring of 2012. That was when I first met Susan and Dean on their deck as a 3-week 6-ounce kitten with a missing tail from a precariously close call with a fox. I heard them talking about how Susan wanted a cat and Dean did not like cats. They fed me a little food that was a lot better than the bugs I was used to eating. I have heard my masters talk about how they started traveling together when Dean left the firm where they had worked together and all the firsts they shared: learning to snow ski, going to Paris for New Year’s, African Safaris, traveling the Alpes, Venezia, Rome, Switzerland, Tuscany, the Caribbean Islands, diving in a shark cage in Gansbaai, and now planning a trip to Fiji. I know my masters are so much in love with one another and besides all the firsts they have so much in common, both being CPA’s and Fellows in HFMA, both past presidents of their HFMA chapter and of course now they both love cats (or at least me). I remember on March 23 we were at my favorite place, Lake Ouachita, and they left for a walk just before sunset. They often find shiny rocks at the lake but when they came back, they were so happy and Susan had this beautiful shiny rock on her hand. It was a good day for rock hunting! They were both happy as I have ever seen them. Dean does not like to use superlatives but I heard him say he was the happiest guy on earth, and I sense that they will be together forever. I am giddy for my masters and I am so happy. This may even mean more combings and cuddles for me. I am so happy my masters took me in back then and I look forward to their long and happy marriage. They couldn’t be more in love. Je vois la vie en rose, "Lucky" the cat "Well said, Lucky" – Susan & Dean xoxo
