How We Met

A Fidelity Love Story

Stephanie: I met Dean at Fidelity Investments, where he was a security guard. Jokingly, I would call him the "hunky security guard" to friends & family. I had my eye on him for a while, but I was too shy to make the first move. One of our first conversations was in the cafeteria hallway where Dean sparked up the first "real" conversation. A week later Dean took me to get ice cream & the rest is history.... Dean: I first met Steph while I was working security for Fidelity Investments. I worked long and odd hours, and I began to notice this cute little blonde girl that was always one of the first few people in the building. I thought she was the most beautiful girl in the world (still do) and knew I had to talk to her. I then started to get my morning coffee around the same time she did. I even started changing the way I did my morning tour of the building, just so I would go by her desk. I was semi-hoping that she would strike up conversation because I was so nervous! Eventually I worked up the courage to talk to introduce myself and then shortly after we got ice cream together. For some reason she kept seeing me and we later went on our first date at Rino's in East Boston. I knew that night that I met my future wife.

The Proposal

November 15th, 2020

Stephanie: We were hiking up in Stowe, VT when Dean got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. So many things I love where surrounding me in that moment.. Dean, mountain air, and a breathtaking view! Dean: We had a weekend getaway planned for Stowe, VT. I was in the process of getting the ring but I had no idea if the ring was going to be ready in time. I got a call that the ring was ready on Thursday and I picked it up that day. Saturday morning we had a scenic hike planned. I had the ring in my pocket the whole time and was terrified Steph would see it. When we got to the top I asked Steph to take a picture and set up my phone to take a video instead. When she thought the picture was completed, I got down on one knee and asked her to marry me. Thankfully she said yes!
