We are sorry to announce that in these uncertain times, we've decided to elope with a small mountain wedding ceremony and no one is invited. While we wish so much that we could celebrate with all of you and give you so many hugs and kisses, circumstances are not permitting. Please stay home, healthy, safe, and hopeful throughout all this craziness and know that you are in our hearts as we move forward with our new adventure. We are eternally grateful for the unique influences you've had in our lives helping us become the people we are today. Some day, we'll even thank you in person. Meanwhile, spread love, not germs, and go wash your hands. So much love, Dean & Lexi K. xoxo
We first met over Facetime in the Fall of 2014. Lexi was studying abroad in Paris, Dean in Jerusalem; Lexi's Montanan roommate invited her to say hi to her friend on the phone (this was Dean) and after doing so, he proceeded to tell the joke that would become Lexi's favourite: "Why do the French only need one egg? Because one egg is un oeuf." 3 years later, on New Year's Eve 2017 in Big Fork, Montana, Lexi was visiting her friends, the MacLennans. At church, she met their family friend, Dean Stimpson. Back in Provo, they were set up on a date and then 1 date turned into 7 dates. But alas, timing would not have it and graduation from BYU/a job in the Bay Area took Lexi to California and Dean to work in healthcare administration in Utah. 1.5 years after that, a haphazard attempt to move to Paris and a last minute declination of grad school in Scotland brought Lexi back to Utah. On a soul-searching trip to San Diego, she posted a video of happy dolphins and Dean broke the silence to comment from China. One thing led to another and the two were reunited on the 26th of September 2019 "catching up" over a rollerblade and spontaneous stone-skipping excursion. Lexi wrote in her journal that night "I think I'm going to marry this guy." Now, here we are.
