The wedding will take place in Estes Park, Colorado. The venue is named “The Landing” and is a bed and breakfast venue on the border of Rocky Mountain National Park.
The wedding party will be wearing suits along with vests for the groomsmen. For guests the suggested dress code is business casual. A tie or other formalwear might be appropriate for the ceremony, but for the reception the dress will become less formal.
Our wedding is intended to be a reflection of our colorful personalities. For this reason, we are avoiding white and black, and instead our wedding is going to feature vibrant colors all across the spectrum.
The Landing has several options for lodging. These are first come, first serve, and the benefit is that anyone intending to stay the night both Friday and Saturday night has no need to travel between lodging and the venue. Room blocks will open up 60 days before the wedding. Estes Park also has lodging and hotel options to fit many budgets and many preferences, so you are welcome to find lodging on your own.
The intention is to have the wedding outdoors, with the river as a backdrop, and then retire indoors for the reception. That said, Mother Nature likes surprises, so we have backup options of being wed indoors in the great hall. The key on the day will be flexibility.
Estes Park is located at high elevation in the Colorado Mountains. In Colorado, that translates to layers. It could be very hot and t-shirt weather, or it could be very chilly. While weather forecasts will begin to solidify 7-10 days in advance, as you plan your outfit it is recommended to consider layers.
The Landing is near Rocky Mountain National Park, in late September. For this reason, it’s possible we may have some additional guests in the form of elk, leaves may be starting to change, and other wildlife may be around. Regardless, please try to follow policies of leave no trace and stay away from wildlife.
There will be an open bar with limited mixed drinks, wine and beer available. Please keep in mind that Estes Park is at an increasingly elevated altitude, and alcohol may affect you more than at a lower altitude. Drink plenty of water, and if you partake in other beverages, please consider lodging onsite or at a neighboring site. Please do not drink and drive. A wedding is a joyous affair.
RMNP has implemented timed entry. Should you wish to visit the National Park, make reservations well in advance. Timed entry passes for September will go on sale in August. Sunday is strongly recommended as a day to visit the park. Traffic in the park may stack up due to wildlife. If you visit the park on Saturday morning, plan on being back an hour before intended in the event traffic stacks up.
The wedding venue is a multi-level building, but for both the wedding and Reception there is drive up access on the same level as the event. Regardless of your mobility you should be able to travel throughout the venue without trouble. Should you anticipate accessibility needs please notify us in advance to allow us to prepare to accommodate any needs.
We will have a wedding photographer documenting the ceremony. For this reason we request you do not take photos during the ceremony, but instead enjoy the day. After the conclusion of the ceremony, photos are welcomed and encouraged to supplement the perspective our photographer captures.
We have no concerns if you post photos of yourself on social media. If other people are in your photos, please get permission from them before posting on social media, or crop or blur them out.
