Josie and Dean met freshman year of college through Young Life in Dayton. They didn't become friends until 2020 when the pandemic hit. Dean and his roommates and Josie and her roommates spent most days of quarantine together (sorry Mike DeWine) and all became very close friends. It wasn't until a year later that the two went on their first date. Dean had grown his hair out throughout all of the pandemic and one day was fed up with it. The newfound confidence he had from his haircut led him to make a move on Josie. Without anyone seeing it coming, Dean reached over to hold hands with Josie during a movie with their friends and asked her on a date afterwards. The rest is history.
Dean was sure he wanted to marry Josie by the fall of 2022, he began to save up to buy a ring and figure out how he was going to pop the question. Dean decided to do it at Delco park, a park near Josie's house. They started going on walks there as early as October so that Josie wouldn't suspect anything out of the ordinary about going on walks there. After months of anxious waiting, the day finally came. Dean was nervous waiting for Josie to get home from work as the sun was quickly setting. They drove over to the park quickly as to "not miss seeing the sunset". As the walked into the park, Dean suggested they divert from the typical route to "switch things up" (in reality he was racing to pop the question with some sunlight still left). They walked into the gazebo that overlooks the pond and Dean hugged her and unbeknownst to her, lifted her up and set her down two feet away so the pictures would turn out right. I mean come on, we're going to have those pictures forever! Dean got down on one knee and asked for her hand in marriage and since you're reading this, you know that she said yes!
