Question

What is the theme for the wedding?

Answer

We do not have an overall theme for the wedding. Just focused on having a good day and evening with family and friends surrounded by pretty things.

Question

What are the colors of the wedding?

Answer

The wedding party and decor will be dark shades of purple. The bridal party will be wearing long flowing dark purple dresses. The groomsmen will be wearing dark purple vests over long sleeved white button-down shirts and dark blue jeans. Our decor will be shades of white/cream with shades of dark purple. The reception tables will be covered in black linen tableclothes. We had considered a secondary color of light gray/silver tones, which we will have in and around, but not as present as we had initially started out. Feel free to dress in like colors if you want, but it's not necessary. Purples, grays or blacks should be fine if you want to do that. We just want a dressy casual feel, so everyone is comfortable at the event.

Question

How is the parking at the event?

Answer

The parking lot is free, there is no fee to park here. The only downside is that it is far from the entrance of the building. There is a roundabout that you can drop loved ones off at so there walk indoors is not so far. Wear comfortable shoes or bring comfortable shoes to change into later in the day.

Question

When does the ceremony start?

Answer

Our plan is to start the ceremony at 1pm. We should have the Theatre available for seating about 15 minutes before 1pm. We will be taking some pre-ceremony photos with our individual wedding parties and immediate families. We will not do a first look and will save that for the ceremony. There will be a waiting area outside of the theatre until the doors are open for seating. We appreciate your patience. We are trying to minimize the time for post-ceremony pictures, so we can get to the reception and fill our bellies!! hahaha

Question

Will there be alcohol served at the reception?

Answer

We will not have alcohol served. It has not been a part of our lives in general, but we understand that it is a part of others lives. If you would like to have alcohol, please feel free to bring your own to drink or to share with others. Please be discreet in bringing it into the building. This is still an active facility for the community whose main use is for recreation and fitness.

Question

Are we able to walk around the facility?

Answer

This facility is a member only facility. While some spaces are available to rent to the public, we must adhere to the two spaces - the Theatre, and the Warehouse. The Theatre is on the first floor. The Warehouse is the reception area and is on the second floor. There are several staircases or elevators that can be used to access the second floor and back down to the first floor. The facility asks that you do not walk around the other areas of the building, only to and from the Theatre and Warehouse. There are restrooms nearby both spaces. The kid areas are not available to our guests; they are only for members of the facility.

Question

Will there be food and drinks at the reception?

Answer

Due to unforeseen circumstances, our first caterer, Edelmonn's BBQ, will not be able to provide service. We have found another place to provide full-service catering for us. They are Outlaw's BBQ. It will be buffet style. We will have the following meat options: Brisket, Sausage & BBQ Chicken. We will have the following side dish options: Potato Salad, Coleslaw, Pinto Beans, Mashed Potatoes w/white gravy, Mac-n-cheese, and Texas Toast. There will be banana pudding for a dessert option. We will have the following drink options: Sweet Tea, Iced Tea, Lemonade & Coffee. In addition to these drink options from the caterer, we will have coolers with bottled water, and some select sodas. We hope that the food options we chose are compatible to most diets/food preferences of everyone joining us on our wedding day. We will have a round cake for Dean & I to cut for pictures. We will also have a half sheet cake to share with everyone.

Question

Do you have a photographer or videographer for the event?

Answer

We will have a videographer for the ceremony only. The photographer will be there all day with us. He will take all the photos and will not have an assistant. We would love our guests to share their wedding photos they will take at our ceremony and reception with us. Please save this link to upload your photos during or after the wedding: https://weduploader.com/upload/iO8PkBR31lQ8mC9d It is not an app to download. It is simply a weblink that you can upload photos taken that will save them to our Google Drive folder. We thank you for sharing your photos of the day that we would otherwise not have available to us.

Question

Why did you ask for a love song on the RSVP card?

Answer

We wanted to get ideas for songs to add to our song list. We also wanted to have your song played so that you can dance along with it at the reception.

Question

Will there be a DJ and a dance floor?

Answer

We will not have a DJ at the reception. We will have our song list to play and plug into the audio system at the event. We hope that we do a good job with the music. We did not intend to have a dance floor, but after talking with family and friends there is high excitement to dance the night away, so I will be trying to find space in the reception area for everyone to be able to dance the night away.

Question

Are you sure there isn't something we can get you?

Answer

This poem better expresses our thoughts: We've been together a year or two, we don't really need anything new. Yet if a gift is your intention, we thought that we would mention, we'd love some pennies to put together, to save for something that we will treasure. And just remember, what means the most, is that you're with us to raise a toast! We love and appreciate each of you and grateful for your love and friendship.

Question

What's the weather like in Texas in March?

Answer

We are usually starting to warm up with Spring coming. Still chilly in the morning around the 40s-50s with afternoon being around 60s. Late afternoon can sometimes get warmer into 70s and 80s, but more often we stick around the high 60s afternoon to evening. We get some spring storms, too. The outlook as of today (3-10-23) for our wedding day looks like a sunny day with a high of 51 and low of 37. So far this is my favorite outlook, since I've been checking out the weather apps late last year.

Question

How many are coming?

Answer

We are blessed to share this day with family and friends and excited that a majority have accepted our invitation. I'd estimate about 95% are coming from all over the US and the rest are from the state of Texas. We should have around 80-90 in attendance and we can't wait to re-unite with friends and family. For those unable to come to our event, we wish you could be here but understand that distance and circumstance are what kept you from coming and hope that we will get to reconnect in person in the near future with you. You are always in our thoughts and prayers.
