Yes, American Citizens are required to have a passport when traveling to Colombia. Expiration dates... Colombia has an entry requirement of 6 months trailing passport validity. Please check to ensure your passport does not expire before September 2027 even though the wedding is in March 2027. Renewing your passport... If you need to apply for or renew a passport, please leave yourself plenty of time. We recommend submitting your passport application no later than September 2026.
The easiest way to get around is by Uber, InDrive, or DiDi — all are safe and affordable ride apps used throughout the city. Taxis are also available, but we recommend using ride apps for convenience and reliability.
In most areas, yes! Neighborhoods like El Poblado, Laureles, and Provenza are pedestrian-friendly during the day. However, we recommend using a ride app at night or for longer distances.

Medellín is called the “City of Eternal Spring.” Temperatures stay between 70–80°F (21–27°C) year-round. Bring a light jacket for evenings and a small umbrella — quick rain showers are common.
