We highly recommend a day trip to Tequila, Jalisco—just an hour’s drive from Guadalajara! Tequila is the birthplace of the famous alcohol Tequila! Who would have guessed. You can tour distilleries, explore agave fields, and, of course, enjoy tequila tastings! Explore Guadalajara’s rich history with stunning colonial-era architecture, lively plazas, and historic landmarks. Located in the heart of the city “Centro Histórico” is a great place to see some of Guadalajara’s most historic and impressive buildings. To include: • Catedral de Guadalajara: A breathtaking cathedral with incredible architecture. • Plaza de Armas: A charming square surrounded by beautiful buildings and often hosting local festivals. • Teatro Degollado: A grand, historic theater and architectural masterpiece. While in the area, don’t miss "Piso Siete", a rooftop restaurant with incredible views of the city. The best way to get to the Historic Center would be via Uber or private transportation to the Cathedral.

Guadalajara is famous for "Carne en su Jugo" and "Tortas Ahogadas." These dishes are commonly served at most Mexican restaurants, but here are a few fast and casual options. If you plan to stay past the wedding, Calaverianda is a theme park celebrating Mexico's Day of the Dead beginning on October 26th (the day after the wedding). Explore colorful altars, life-sized skeletons, and interactive exhibits that bring this vibrant tradition to life.
