MACHU PICCHU
This 15th-century Inca citadel, now one of the new 7 wonders of the world, is most definitely a must do! Prepare to be amazed! The hotel concierge can coordinate your travel to Machu Picchu by train. We’ve found more price-competitive deals by booking through a travel agency (of which there are many for Machu Picchu tours). There is a train station that travels to Machu Picchu on the Tambo del Inka hotel grounds and also close by in Urubamba. Remember to book in advance! CUSCO CITY
The historical capital of Peru! Sitting in the Peruvian Andes mountains, it once was the capital of the Incan empire until the 16th-century Spanish conquest. Cusco city is about 1 hour drive from the wedding venue, this is were the airport is. If you have the time, you should enjoy a couple nights in this gorgeous city!
MARAS
Since pre-Inca times, salt has been obtained in Maras by evaporating salty water from a local subterranean stream.
MORAY
Moray was an Inca agricultural research center where crop experiments were carried out at different heights and microclimates.
VINICUNCA (RAINBOW) MOUNTAIN
This rainbow-like appearance is created by the sediment of minerals throughout the area giving the mountain the turquoise, lavendar, gold and other colors. It was only recently discovered due to the snow melting revealing the hidden gem that’s still considered holy by many until this day.
OLLANTAYTAMBO
The Ollantaytambo ruins are one of the last strongholds of the Incas.
