We met at a mixer at our school for the mentorship programs we were both a part of. We started getting to know each other there and spent a little bit more time together later on. We didn't see each other or talk at all until about a month later when we reconnected at a friend's house. We exchanged phone numbers and began talking and spending time together often. He sparked spontaneity in me, so we spent our time together exploring Bishop Arts, driving around downtown Dallas at night, and walking around other universities. As we spent more time together, we very quickly knew we were interested in one another. We waited a couple more months before making it official and began dating on May 1st, 2022 :)
The day before Eagan proposed was my 21st birthday, so Eagan recreated a lot of our favorite memories from our early relationship. We went to the Dallas Museum of Art, had a picnic in Klyde Warren Park, went to Meow Wolf, and had dinner at our favorite sushi restaurant. That night, we recreated our first all-nighter, which is when we both knew we had feelings for each other. Just like our first all-nighter, we spent that morning in Bishop Arts and went to Davis Street Coffee. Unfortunately for Eagan, they were closed. He had the jar from the coffee we had bought our first time there, so we went to White Rhino Coffee in Bishop Arts instead, and he poured his coffee into that jar. We walked around Bishop Arts, and he handed me his coffee to try. He had written on the jar, "Will you marry me?", and he pulled out the ring and got down on one knee! It was so sweet and special, and everything I dreamed of.
