Meet Me at Midtown

Alex and Joey technically always knew each other—or at least knew of each other. They attended the same elementary, middle, and high schools, and even went to the same summer day camp as kids. But somehow, their paths never really crossed. (Alex was afraid of everything; Joey was afraid of nothing. Hence, the missed connections.) That all changed during Alex’s junior year of high school. She decided to join her best friends—who were seniors—on their senior trip to Cancun, Mexico. The first day at the resort, the whole group didn't waste a minute and headed for the pool. That’s when she ran into one of the only other kids on the trip without parents: Joey. The rest of the trip was a blur of laughter, sun, Scooby Doo shots, and what felt a whole lot like love. Fast forward 15 years—on May 15th, they’ll tie the knot surrounded by their closest family and friends. Alex will finally get the royal wedding she always dreamed of. From growing up together (quite literally), surviving long-distance love, law school, the bar exam (let’s be honest, that was a team effort), building careers, and finding their place in the world—they're ready to celebrate the next chapter.
