We come from two very different places. Sean grew up in the small town of Nevis, Minnesota, surrounded by lakes and long snowy winters. At 18, he traded the snow for sunshine and moved to Tallahassee to attend Florida State University. Daysia is a proud Jacksonville native who made her way to Tallahassee in 2013, also to attend Florida State. We met in October 2016, from our very first date at the movies we both felt something special. The next day, when Daysia wasn’t feeling her best, Sean showed up with homemade pot roast and said, “Now that you have my Tupperware, you’ll have to see me again to return it.” It was smooth, it was sweet, and it totally worked. (Spoiler: she never gave it back.) Later that week, Sean invited Daysia to hang out by the pool with her favorite drinks and snacks. We spent the day laughing, relaxing, and realizing just how easy it was to be together. From that moment on, we knew we had found something rare. After Daysia graduated from FSU that winter, we spent the next 2.5 years in a long-distance relationship. We talked on the phone constantly, made every visit count, Sean even took the Greyhound to Jacksonville whenever he could. Through all the miles, our love only grew stronger. Daysia knew from the very beginning that Sean was the one. In 2019, we finally closed the distance when Sean moved to Jacksonville and we've been inseparable ever since. On March 29, 2024, Sean proposed, and it was the happiest, most love-filled day of our lives. Now we can't wait to say “I do” and celebrate our love surrounded by all the people who have supported our journey along the way.
