Our story

told by Tyler...

It all began on a spring morning in 2014 at a softball field in Philadelphia. Tim O’Shaungnessy had assembled an all-star cast of strangers that he scouted throughout the Manayunk area (we stunk). A large portion of our friend group met on that team, but most important to this story, an attractive girl caught my eye that first game. She was wearing a Pittsburgh Penguins hat and had a puppy that wouldn’t stop barking at softballs. Trying to be a good teammate, I approached her. “Nice hat,” seemed like a strong start. In Philly, fellow Pens fans must stick together. A sarcastic “thanks” was her only reply. Message received. As the team grew closer and began spending every Sunday together, Dayna developed an interest in me. Who could blame her? It also helped that she learned I was a Pens fan and not just another disgruntled Flyers fan. Fast forward a few months to Dayna’s birthday. The gang was going out to celebrate and Dayna knew she wanted to make a move, so she sought the advice of her girlfriends on breaking the ice. The answer was simple - ask him to buy you a birthday shot. Dayna’s shot of choice has always been tequila. She approached me and made her birthday request, Patron shots. Little did she know, the interest was mutual. Those shots lit a spark that led to so much more. Forewarning – expect Patron shots at the reception. After that, Dayna wasted no time and asked me on a date to a quaint Italian restaurant. From there, our love for trying restaurants and for each other grew. The rest is history. Six years later, we live happily in Philadelphia with that dog that loves barking at balls, Bernie, and our cat, Louie. We share a love for travel, animals, restaurants, hanging with those same friends, and, of course, Pittsburgh sports. With that being said we wanted our wedding to incorporate as many of our passions as possible. Please join us as we travel, explore, try new foods, and, most importantly, make memories with our closest friends and family.
