Dayna & Katrina met during Dayna’s first year at the FIU College of Law, where Dayna told her friends during the first week of school that she really liked the girl with purple hair who worked closing shifts at the Law Library. Katrina began to recognize Dayna and her student ID number because of how often Dayna came to her, so Dayna recruited her friends to help find Katrina’s social media. Dayna & Katrina finally started to get to know each other on Katrina’s 23rd birthday, and have never once stopped texting since. Dayna & Katrina were inseparable; they started falling asleep on FaceTime with one another within weeks of meeting. Neither of them willing to admit it, they developed intense feelings rather quickly, and all their friends could see it. In December 2023, they finally admitted the love they had for one another. After celebrating Valentine’s Day together, Dayna finally asked Katrina to be her official girlfriend on March 15, 2024. They attended Barrister's Ball one day later! Dayna moved to Fort Myers, Florida for the summer of 2024, and Katrina made the drive every other week to come see her. It truly was an early testament to their love and commitment to one another. They adopted their first cat, Pepper, and spent their weekends at the pool. They were slowly assembling what would become the rest of their lives. They adopted their second cat, Simba, in June of 2025. Dayna proposed to Katrina first on July 23, 2025. Dayna had originally planned a big proposal in Washington, D.C., at a picnic at the National Arboretum on Katrina’s birthday that year (photographer booked and all!). But, while watching Say Yes to the Dress one day, Katrina said, “I think you’re going to propose to me on my birthday at the National Arboretum.” In a panicked attempt to surprise Katrina, Dayna proposed the following day at Zoo Miami. Katrina reciprocated the proposal on September 30, 2025, in front of Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida. We tied the knot in a private, civil ceremony on May 11, 2026. Dayna & Katrina “said ‘yes’ to the dress” with Randy Fenoli, on opposite sides of a bridal shop, with their friends and families on September 21, 2025. The biggest surprise they’ve ever kept, and will ever keep, is what those wedding dresses look like. So keep our secrets if you know them!
