FAQs

The Wedding Website of Dayle de Graaf and James Kish
Question

What is the attire?

Answer

Cocktail attire- midi or maxi dresses for women and suits for men. In keeping with the theme of our wedding, The Joy of the Lord, we’re encouraging bright and cheerful colors to reflect the celebration of this joyful day. The ceremony and cocktail hour will be held outdoors, so block heels or other comfortable shoes are recommended. December weather in Charleston can range from the 40s to 70s, so please plan layers accordingly.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please plan to arrive at Middleton Place by 3:00 to be seated by 3:15 PM. The ceremony will begin promptly at 3:30 PM. It takes about 10–15 minutes to walk from the parking area to the ceremony location, so we encourage guests to arrive with enough time to enjoy the beautiful walk through the grounds. If you are unable to walk that distance or would prefer assistance, we will have a golf cart available to transport guests to the ceremony site- just let one of the attendants know upon arrival.

Question

When is the RSVP deadline?

Answer

Please RSVP by October 30th! We’re so excited to celebrate with you! Due to planning details, we may not be able to guarantee a spot if we don’t hear from you by then. Whether you’re able to attend or not, we ask that you please take a moment to RSVP by the deadline.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We kindly ask that only invited guests attend to help us keep the celebration intimate. If you have any questions about your invitation, please reach out to us directly.

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

We absolutely love the little ones, but this will be an adults-only celebration (with the exception of our sweet flower girls). Thank you for understanding and we can’t wait to celebrate with you!

Question

Will there be transportation to and from the venue?

Answer

Please refer to the travel tab for all transportation details. We’ve included everything you’ll need to know there. Let us know if you have any questions!

Question

Are guests allowed to take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

To honor the intimacy of this moment, we’re having an unplugged ceremony. We kindly ask that you silence and put away all phones and cameras. Our incredible photo and video team will be capturing everything, and we hope you'll join us in being fully present for this special beginning.
