FAQs

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Cocktail attire- think midi or long dresses for women and suits for men (ties not required). In keeping with the theme of our wedding, The Joy of the Lord, we’re encouraging bright, cheerful colors to reflect the celebration of this joyful day. The ceremony and cocktail hour will be held outdoors, so block heels or other comfortable shoes are recommended. December weather in Charleston can range from the 50s to 70s, so please plan layers accordingly.

Question

When should guests arrive for the ceremony?

Answer

Please plan to arrive at Middleton Place by 3:00 to be seated by 3:15 PM. The ceremony will begin promptly at 3:30 PM. It takes about 10–15 minutes to walk from the parking area to the ceremony location, so we encourage guests to arrive with enough time to enjoy the beautiful walk through the grounds. If you are unable to walk that distance or would prefer assistance, we will have a golf cart available to transport guests to the ceremony site- just let one of the attendants know upon arrival.

Question

When is the RSVP deadline?

Answer

The last day to RSVP is October 31st! Whether you are able to join us or not, we kindly ask that you still take a moment to RSVP.

Question

Are guests allowed to bring a date?

Answer

We kindly ask that only invited guests attend to help us keep the celebration intimate. If you have any questions about your invitation, please reach out to us directly.

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

We absolutely love the little ones, but this will be an adults-only celebration (with the exception of our sweet flower girls). Thank you for understanding and we can’t wait to celebrate with you!

Question

Will there be transportation to and from the venue?

Answer

Please refer to the travel tab for all transportation details. We’ve included everything you’ll need to know there. Let us know if you have any questions!

Question

Are guests allowed to take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

~Unplugged Ceremony~ We ask that you please keep phones and cameras tucked away during the ceremony. We’ve hired an amazing team of photographers and videographers to thoughtfully capture every moment, and we’d love for you to be fully present with us as we say “I do.”
